MCL30 Dermablate is a skin ablation device built on the 2940 nm Erbium YAG (Er:YAG) laser from Asclepion, Germany. Using a wavelength that is highly absorbed by water, it removes tissue in the epidermis and dermis precisely, in very fine increments. Adjustable pulse length provides a coagulation effect that reduces bleeding, and the spot size can be adjusted from 1 to 6 mm by turning a ring on the handpiece, without switching handpieces. With little thermal damage to surrounding tissue, it reduces pain and downtime, and small lesions can be treated without anesthesia. It is used to remove benign skin lesions such as moles and seborrheic keratoses, to improve acne scars, traumatic scars and deep wrinkles, and for fractional resurfacing.
